Explore Our Curriculum Framework

Our early childhood team offers a caring and nurturing environment where children are able to learn together through a careful balance of structured play and creative learning activities. We offer a safe child-centered program that is appropriate for children who are 3 and 4 years-old. Both indoor and outdoor activities allow students to learn about the world and themselves.

For the purposes of simplicity and clarity, our curriculum guidelines are divided into eight distinct areas of learning. Within the classroom, we integrate all these areas of learning into developmentally appropriate hands-on activities. Our daily program focuses on:

Our teaching stimulates learning through exploration and play while encouraging independence.

Activities Area

The teachers rotate daily making each of the additional learning areas available to all students over the course of the week.

  • The Play House: where dressing-up clothes and accessories are available to facilitate imaginative play, sharing and social interaction.

  • The Block and Math Center: where children are encouraged to build puzzles, to participate in educational games, to play with construction toys and wooden blocks.

  • The outdoor area: containing a variety of climbing equipment, swings and a sandpit. These are separate areas where, water play and sensopathic experiences are set up to encourage experimentation, problem solving and fine muscle manipulation.

  • The creative area in the classroom: where children paint, draw, cut, paste, model with dough and build constructions with anti-waste materials.

Beyond the Classroom

During the Academic year, our children may go on field trips to local places of interest to broaden their experiences.
